Learn how to Break the Sync Speed using ANY Studio Lights!!
In this episode, we will show how you can use ANY BRAND of studio light and still shoot with very low F numbers, getting very blurry background while using extremely high shutter speeds like 1/4000 secs or 1/8000 secs!! With this trick, you are no longer a 'slave' to Nikon's expensive flashes & its highly proprietary CLS (pun intended).

***NOTE! Remember to watch the segment AFTER the credit roll... very important info on what flashes & camera models will work with this hack (*and what will not)!!!!

Pure gold, amazing video. A lot of photographers sometimes push you to buy so expensives lights to get that kind of shots, but this video is glorius. I cant thank you enough.

Just tested my vintage Bowens 800ws strobes....I used:
Metz Mecalucz 11 optical trigger
Neewer NW871 HSS speed light set on Manual (full power)
Nikon D200 set at Auto FP
It worked. There was a loss of about 2 f stops with the Bowens at full power but I think that will be enough to overpower the sun any day. Thanks for sharing....this is what photography is all about....learning and sharing. Greetings from Germany.

Andrew, I can't thank you enough! So far, your videos are the only original solutions for the challenges of using high shutter speeds at wide open apertures. Kudos and much respect!

I'm sorry you have to put up with the trollish comments though. Have a great day!

Just did it with a 580EXII, 60d and Alien Bee 800. I shot with a 85mm f/1.8. Beautiful shots. Thanks so much!

That was cool! I get so wrapped up in radio triggers I never stop to consider this option. Perhaps it's best to have some of each in your kit.

So, I watched this video not once but twice. Did exactly what you recommended. I used a 85mm 1.8 lens and two flash units. Setting where, f1.8 & 8000 with an ISO of 100. Dang if it didn't work like a champ. Thanks a million Andrew!

Terrific tutorial. Thank you!! I have two basic Elinchrom's 4x with the optical receiver built in. must try this. I picked up a Sunpak for my D7100. Enjoy your watching your vblogs/tutorials.

Hi..My name is Kiran and I must say that you make very interesting videos and I follow each of your videos. Thanks a lot for taking all the effort in teaching us.
Im using a Nikon D5600 and in this camera I cannot break the barrier of sync speed as it doesn't support High speed sync. Whatever flash is used the shutter speed cannot go beyond 1/200. How to use this camera with flash outdoors to get perfect exposure with all colours and background blur.. Any tips could be helpful and will be really appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, Andrew. I thank you again for your video. As usual, very good and informative. Just to bring some light to this subject and give testimony, I've used your technich with Sony A77, A65 and A7rII and it works with them all with a speedlight Youngnuo and studio flashes (Lencarta/Godox).

Thanks again and keep up the good work!

Thank You ! I knew there had to be a way to make the studio strobes work with High Speed Sync other than electronic trigger devices !

I've been trying to find a tutorial that can explain this to me for days! None of them did until I came across yours! Thanks so much. It works. Now I'll be able to freeze motion in the studio when I do sports shoots.
