Giant Steps (John Coltrane) - Matteo Mancuso

Finally got this wonderful Pacifica by @yamaha_guitars ! I decided to record a practice session while fighting with this gigantic monster called “Giant Steps” here’s the few choruses that survived. Backing track provided by my favourite backing track creator @SimonPeterKing (check out his social media pages!)
some intonation issues here and there, still trying to figure out how to use the bar, and I also didn’t tune up before recording, very professional ❤️😂

In my humble opinion, he’s light years away from the nearest guy, in harmony, improvisation, fluidity, and IMPECCABLE TIMING!

Everyone hears what is familiar to them.
I hear Scott Henderson's tremolo technique and phrasing being used all over this piece.
We all have a mix of undeniable influences in our playing styles. More than anything... I'm hearing Matteo Mancuso 👍🙂
