I am a saxophonist, and I can play on giant steps comfortably up to about 250 to 260 bpm.
When I say play comfortably, I mean, I can play on the changes comfortably. I’ve never tried to transcribe Trane’s solo. According to all of the teachers, and the people that tell you how to play jazz; I suppose I should transcribe, and learn the solo Trane played. To me that would be simply wood shedding. I would never go on a gig, and play his solo verbatim.
All of this being said, you are phenomenal. The way Trane structured that solo, it seems difficult just to continue paying attention from beginning to end. As beautiful, and as accurate as your vocal was, and along with that great smile of joy; I saw a few times there were the eyes rolled, as if to say, “damn, there’s more !?” 😎
Be well, and keep singing. You’re very good at it.
