Why play Diablo 3 in 2024?

I bought diablo 4 a while back just to realize how amazing is diablo 3

Diablo 3 is still very good today. It has been updated numerous times, bringing new stuff along the way. Now it's like a complete game. I still play it often and it's a blast, as always.

What I love about D3 is I can play a season for 100-200h, finish everything I wanted and move on to playing different games. Unlike D4 which feels like a chore to even start playing (like map completion) or PoE which is designed to be played as a monogame. If a game demands 100% time commitment from me I quickly lose interest, playing should be fun, not work.

D3 became my favorite ARPG game over the years (also like D2 and PoE, D4 not so much...) D3 just feels so complete now, with all the stuff they added over the years. More content like the EN, follower update and so on and the QoL stuff like the altar. Looking foward playing S30, will be a blast. Always playing SSF, since the launch of the game. Never traded or MP.

Always like to see your content. I still like D3 better than D4 that grind from about 65 to 100 is unbearable and will always be a deal breaker for me personally.

It's great for 2-5 days each new season. I play POE seassions i like for 2-3 weeks but i do skip half of them. I don't miss a single D3 seasson and the past 4 or 5 that tiny team has knocked it out of the park everytime.

The 4 issues I had with D4, are that the story mode dragged on so damn long without a mount. So much walking. And by the time I got the mount at the end of Act 4?.. i was so burnt out.
And the end Game is walking through those boring Dungeons.. The last one was the end game. Everyone will reach the same limit, same build.
The difference of the End Game in D3 is the paragon rewards you with more power if you keep playing.
And partying up with random people in D3 is much easier.

You know mr Filthy, i am surprised that, considering the systems that have become permanent, why didn't they continue the 4th cube slot? i feel like that opened up more build options! so why not make it permanent.

Too bad they did not bring back the holiday gifts event from last year. Thought it would return each year… guess Blizz wants us to celebrate xmas in d4 🤷‍♂️

Hi Filthy, we're totally on the same page, which reads "I simply love D3." I mean every single aspect of the game - it feels so smooth, fast, fluid. You don't need to depend on others and still you're able to farm anything you want, no raid parties required. SSF is wonderful.

In my country we have a saying "Jak na Nový rok, tak po celý rok", which would loosely translate as "Do it on New Year's, you'll be doing it the entire year". Perhaps you have something similar, but if so, I haven't learned it yet. Well, my duty for New Year's done, so I'll stick around for sure. 🙂 The upcoming season really looks great, it's gonna shine.
