Instagram Just BROKE Carousels (For Some Of You)

There is a new update coming to carousels and it's going to have some pretty annoying effects for me. But for you it's probably fine. But I wanted to tell you about it. The end.

This feature only just appeared for me. Basically all my posts are totally ruined now. Instagram fucking sucks.

8 months later and I never even knew this was happening for so long and now soooo many of my carousels that I spent lots of time designing look like ass. This kills so much creativity on carousels sadly.

If the white lines are forced they will kill carousels in my opinion. Because it kills how creative you can be with your images. If I want white lines to separate the pictures I will add white lines MYSELF. I've done many seamless carousels with my own lines so if they force new lines into existing carousels mine will be completely ruined... :( Carousels are the one thing that still makes it fun for me to post pictures. I hate reels.

Hate this new update! I loved the creativity with "seamless" carousels. I noticed it only on my iPhone but not on my android. I hope they will discard this stupid idea.

Never been good at reels (or any kind of video) so if IG starts supporting stills again, that would be great. I've always hated the aspect ratio.

Honestly I feel like Instagram are gaslighting me! It's only just been implemented into my account and it's driving me crazy I hate it sooo much !! The feature feels like a knife scraping on a china plate to me!!!

This exact same situation is happening to me and it's driving me nuts. It started about 2 months ago, without me ever changing any settings on IG or my phone. Its not happening to anyone I know, although they dont have the S24u. Hope this gets fixed soon. Thank you for your video.

I definitely don't mind the seamless floating between frames, but the one line looks tacky in my opinion and as someone that often posts landscapes as you describe, having a white line right through the shot is a major bummer. Having the little white dot to show you're on a carousel is far less obtrusive than this - I honestly don't get the thought process behind it at all. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Just came here coz I noticed this on my post today. The strange thing is, it’s only on some of the photos. The first few are seamless, even though all images were the same size. I also see if I view it on my phone on safari there are no lines, which gives me hope it’s an issue they can fix for apps. Hope it shifts back to the way it was.

I got this update, I use dark mode and it’s sucks more when I see bright and well lit images 😭😭

From a view point of a viewer of content, I don't like the whole idea of the white lines. The whole transition thing I don't have a problem with, but I don't like or feel the need for that white line (or I sense black line if you view the app in dark mode).

I hate this new way to display carousels on INSTAGRAM and consider actually to leave INSTAGRAM. They already downgraded the ability to mixt different format some year ago, erasing the efforts we did to associate pictures of different format.

I just found this out on my profile and they are not improving anything they're just fucking up anything that works. If anything functions normally on meta someone wake up one morning and just says oh I'm going to mess that up. "Read all notification" button? F that. Let's add notifications of notifications instead. Square thumbnails on your profile. Let's make it a compulsory rectangle for everyone. Smooth transition? Yeah let's make a white line in the middle. Meanwhile there's still no way to edit a comment
