In the fourth in my series of browser tests, today we have the closest test ever between Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Opera and Apple Safari. I tested each browser in a variety of different ways to see which was definitively the fastest around.

@Reitoufication Just because you have the highest score doesn't mean you win in all tests, some tests it was the opposite. In all the tests I arranges the browsers from left to right to show which won.

@poakerz Thanks, I'm glad you liked it.

@vahnfish I might just add a less common browser in the next test.

@kristarnold85 That's about right yes. But that's not considering Chrome and Opera being even faster than Safari.

@bobbybob3680 No no, I just had a lot of stuff up while I was doing the screen recordings All the tests were done with nothing at all running according to task manager.

@connymacbook No doubt, but this is a Windows browser test.

@TailsMilesProwerFan1 I was talking about Safari 4.

@dummyfreak6000 It has themes and add-ons now though, and it's just as fast with them unlike Firefox.

@ipodiphonetouch Some people say that running Spirit with iTunes running worked. I haven't verified, but you might want to give it a shot.

@cristianerrr304 Oh really? I had some problems with Chrome 5 earlier, but they updated it and it's worked perfect since.

@FAKEBC They call it a beta, but eh...I run the beta channel on Windows and it's just fine, I wouldn't really worry.

@j0egas Yeah there's just no beating it. Safari is quite good on Mac, no doubt.

On witch internet speed connection(s) did you test all these browsers ? 1mbps, 2mbps, 3mbps connection ? Or other ?

@tomo0086 Is 4 the latest one? This morning, my mom (I'm 14 btw >_>) was having trouble with Firefox. The screen started flickering when she opened it and... well, it went wacko. My Firefox yesterday flickered a bit, the Youtube screen went black along with some of the bars on top, I only saw the video and some letters on the side. Although, it may just be my video card since I was having trouble with flickering and stuff with a couple of games...

You didn't have all those programs running while you did the tests, right (Word, iTunes)

at 4:55 you are not using this as proof as how fast the browsers are are you? cause if im not mistaken you have a amd athlon cpu and look how much you have running. very great and thorough test though

@TrancorWD
Do you quit all your programs before you browse the internet too? I agree this can't be called an official test, but it sure shows the practical speed.

@haiti1800 Internet Explorer 9 is just barely, yeah. IE9 is looking pretty good I can't lie.

Your title says Firefox 4, yet all your test results are showing Mozilla Developer Preview 3.7 Alpha 4. Could you please change/fix?
