That's all on you bud. Don't blame the Daiwa rod.

That rod don't suck. I have all the sizes 8', 9', 10', 11', &12'...never had that problem. The problem is you boosted that ray out of the water by high sticking which is a big no no. That's what sucked...not the rod!

Sometimes the fishing equipment sucks and sometimes the anglers sucks! Use a fishing rod in almost 90 degrees position is a big DON'T DO IT in the worldwide fishing community. Is a fact no matter what you have to say!

Even a 1000$ rod can break like this 😅..

Imagine sending this video to the rod company as “proof it’s the rods fault” 😂😂😂

High-sticking, created a dog~leg in the carbon fibre and “Snap”. It broke due to carelessness rather than a failure in the rod’s material and design.

100% your fault, rod was high sticked with dead weight basically, Ik you might’ve had rods before handle that type of pressure however a rod’s durability during misuse doesn’t necessarily always mean it’s a good rod either, I’m sure those are great rods maybe just try to be a little more careful next time, my bad if I sounded blunt at first lol

I got pissed at a wind knot once, and yanked down on my line with the rod in that same position. Deep down I wanted to break that tsunami airwave.

This guy is not educated on rod breakage and stress fractures 🤦‍♂️

You really shouldn’t pick a fish up by the rod I know the comments have battered you but I would change the video name to. How to not use your emcast rod if you want it to last lol

Good rods nowadays have a sensitive tip to feel the bite and strong back bone to haul the catch in. That being said, you have to know how to not handle these rods. Holding it straight up vertically like that while having a catch on it is asking for it to break.

But im sure through this sacrifice, you have educated a lot if people. So i thank you, sir.

Ouch people giving you rough feed back . Catching heavy fish on a jetty if other people are around can be tough. If you swept it more to the side you would been fine. Once you get it out of the water you can just grab the middle of the rod to move the fish around, it helps avoid the rod pointing up as much

It's called high sticking. When you move the rod 45 degrees above in front of you. The rod is weakest at that point.

Hence why they offer newbies solid glass rods as loaners on the headboats. Stop High sticking my brotha

This is why I always grab the line to bring in the fish on longer rods like this. The tips will snap real easy if you high stick it.

Yeah, that’s called high sticking. They’re not made to bend like that go buy yourself an ugly stick they’re made to be like that.
