The problem with "just vote!" is the "just" part.

America is about electoralism not democracy, by that I mean the ceremony and practice of elections. It does not care what thoes elections reflect as long as it reflects the best intrests of Americas own power.

Yeah, I noticed that. We were very specific about who could and couldn't vote even before we were the United States, and we've shifted the goal posts on that, but we're still there. It's the entire reason we don't have popular policies like a sane military budget and universal healthcare.

Capitalism is part of the issue ... and the corrupted political system (and politicians). And the parts of the country where they still seem to be resentful about desegregation.

I'd say this also applies to the UK as well especially with the current and last few administrations we've had.

Honestly even if everyone's vote was fair and free, It wouldn't really be democratic because of the two party system, Which in my eyes is scarcely better than a one party system, Without basically restructuring the entire government to better allow for other parties to be represented it's not all that democratic in my eyes.

Sure, but vote anyway, it matters and we can make it matter more. Voting is the bare minimum of civic responsibility.
