I know I say this every year, but gosh I love when buddy gets so dark with that blond mane, he is so beautiful. As far as pasture grass, once it gets longer than 4 inches it gets loaded down with parasites, so I think you keep your pastures just fine to keep your horses nice and healthy. With the amount of years you have had horses with very little serious sicknesses speaks volumes on the care you give and their diet. So you must be doing something right.

That camera is so clear it's the next best thing to being there. We could always make out the graininess in vids and film back in the old days. Just amazes me how much technology has improved in my lifetime!

I just started volunteering at an animal rescue. They have 13 horses and ponies in their care, and I clean the fields for them. I have to thank this channel for helping me to learn so much about horses and their behaviour. The horses are all well cared for, with space to roam and a shelter to come and go. They're retired to this sanctuary, and all have their little groups with horsey friends and company. Thanks Rick for helping me to learn so much

Your pasture is looking gorgeous, so much better since you got your tractor and started mowing regularly 😊
In my experience the more you mow your pasture (so long as it's not too short) the better grazing that you end up with, especially over winter grazing 😉

I always thought, for the sake of the horses, that the grass pasture should be as high as a human shin. But the part about the weeds makes a lot of sense. Excellent video! 😊

My cat preferred to drink out of a big bowl also. He just enjoyed it for some reason so I’d always fill up a huge mixing bowl for him instead of the small one and he was so happy 😊
