This woman has super rare “golden blood” which if I remember correctly means it’s not negative or positive. It’s so rare that she was one of the only people *in the world* who could donate blood to this child. She’s extremely agoraphobic so every step of her journey showed incredible strength from her. At one point as they were getting close to the hospital the doctor with her gave an AMAZING speech to encourage her. He’s one of my favorite interns on the whole show!

They knew the woman had psych/phobia issues. They should've brought someone to draw the blood from the donor while she's on the plane.

The worst case scenario for people with null type blood group is if they are born with haemophilia as well.

The real question is why they took her therapist?! They kinda fucked this up so quickly becuse they should have made sure both were cleared and not just her. They had to know if the therapist was gone. She would have immediately panicked.

The fact she even got that far was already a miracle.😅

What's sad and scary is she knows it's a small part of her. It's not supposed to be as strong as the rest of her. Also THAT THERAPIST IS WORKING, WHY ARE THEY INTERRUPTING A MEDICAL SITUATION, THEY CLEARLY SEE A DOCTOR

And anyone always has the right to change their mind! Was this an actual scene from something?

I imagine that having such a rare blood type at least reinforced the idea that she's extremely delicate, she was probably raised wrapped in bubblewrap and being told that her blood is extremely important and must be protected at all costs

A lot of times if they know you have a rare blood they will ask you to save some blood at the blood banks every year just incase something like this happens.

Honestly, his saying she couldn't back out after saying yes, is just wrong.

"Oh. You said yes to sex you can't back out now."

See. No, she can. It's not her fault the other person needs her blood. It's a bad situation but it's how it is.

I understand they need the blood to save someone, but at the same time, knowing the donor's limitations they can't possibly drive her to death with pressure

She can decide she doesn't want to!!! Wtf you're not obligated to donate

First of all, you knew she had a phobia. She doesn't owe you shit. Its her body. You should have been more prepared.

Everyone made it to the doctors, but she knew what she signed up for, and because of that, a kid might have died. If she was so terrified, then why would she sign up for it in the first place. Also, the end just makes her case look way worse as I thought she was being selfish and cowardly, but then I heard what the comments and doctors said. I have no idea what that is. Though I see it crazy she signed up to save someone and was like, "Nah, I'll pass, " like, bro.

Then why would she lie about being able to donate blood then?

If she wasn't going to do it, she should have never got their hopes up.

Im O- and CMV-, and I constantly get emails about donating. I used to as well, but they discovered a severe iron issue that I now take supplements for (but still doesn't get me to a trustable level), and I have a healthy fear of needles after one got stuck in my muscle as a kid. I pretty much pass out from a mix of those two reasons every time, and thats if they even let me with my iron. It sucks too, because I know my blood is super useful for those who need it.

This is both sides fault, first that woman should have never consented for the donation if she knew herself so better, she is partially guilty if the patient dies and the hospital is partially at fault they should have checked the info about her properly and made sure she was comfortable and if she wasn't they should have looked for another donor. Both of them are guilty

Then why say yes ? I list yourself from the donor list and quit giving false hope.

If her blood is that rare. Why can't she donate blood from home and have it sent where it's needed or store some blood to make sure that she can be saved if she's in an accident? Is this impossible?
