personally, mario kart 7 is underrated as hell, gliding was so smooth bro, it’s not the same in the new games, so is the underwater sections, this rainbow road could just put it up a slot it’s such a good game criminally underrated

I agree with you ranking Mario Kart wii un #1 since it’s my favorite Mario kart game and my second favorite Mario game ever, just besides Super Mario world, and also, Dry Bones, I loved how he’s also one of your favorites. Dry Bones is my favorite Mario character ever :)

My personal favorite is MKDS. Many of the songs are really good, the drifting puts a lot more skill into the game, and there's the missions mode which never came into future games. (I haven't played SMK, MKDD!!, or MKWii, but I've played most of their tracks via the retro tracks)

The Mega Mushroom is obtainable from 4th to 8th in Wii. The item that's actually obtainable from 5th to 9th is the POW Block.

I have to agree with number 1. All time favourite game honestly. Still wish I had a Wii (or even a Wii U since that can play Wii games). Here's my list:

I tried Mario kart ds and only played the Grand Prix mode. I didn’t like it because I felt slowed down and most of the time drifts were useless. I really didn’t like that aspect of the game so I only played it once. Maybe I should try the mission mode you mentioned, even though I feel slowed down by the controls of the game it might be interesting. Also one of my first video games ever was Mario kart Wii. I remember playing it with my mom and always being 12th because I was bad and I liked to look at the decorations in the tracks. I played Mario Kart 7 too, but despite the good tracks of the game, only having the default characters and not knowing how to get more made the game less enjoyable to me. I also have 8 Deluxe that I have played a lot. I really liked having many characters to choose from and the controls are great. I don’t have the dlc though so I only have the default tracks. They’re good but it doesn’t have the best ones.

Also the Wii rainbow road is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. I really like rainbows and colors and this is by far one of my favorites in terms of looks

My top 10:

Honorable Mention: Mario Kart Tour- I really don't like this one much. I find the controls to be very bad and it's overpriced and not that enjoyable. At least the track selection is pretty good.

10. Mario Kart Arcade Games- Yes, I will just group them all together here. They really all blend together for me.
9. Super Mario Kart- It's the one that started it all but it really hasn't aged as well as the other games in the series.
8. Mario Kart: Super Circuit- This game is really underrated in my opinion. It's still just not quite as good as some of the other games on this list.
7. Mario Kart 64- This game was a major improvement from the original. It's a fun game and a classic even if it hasn't aged as well as games like Mario Kart Double Dash and Wii.
6. Mario Kart 7- This is another pretty underrated Mario Kart game. The gliding mechanic and tracks with sections really makes the game even more fun.
5. Mario Kart 8- This is a great game but I feel like they included TOO much in terms of character and course selection. While not my personal favorite, this game objectively has the best selection of everything in terms of quantity at least- besides Mario Kart 8 deluxe of course.
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe- Again, it's Mario Kart 8 except better. It fixes some of the issues with Mario Kart 8 and it's on the Switch so that's pretty much an automatic upgrade.
3. Mario Kart DS- I go back and forth between this game, Double Dash and Wii for which one is my favorite. This one just doesn't have quite as enjoyable graphics and hasn't aged quite as well as the other 2. It was the first game to introduce retro tracks properly and another major highlight is Mission mode. It is still a lot of fun to play to this day.
2. Mario Kart Wii- While Mario Kart DS did a great job of bringing back retro courses, this one does it 10 times better. A lot of the things people criticize about this game such as tilt controls just adds to the fun of this game. This arguably also has the best roster in the series with a wide selection of great characters while avoiding adding a lot of unnecessary characters like Pink Gold Peach and Metal Mario. The course selection is amazing as well.
1. Mario Kart Double Dash- This game is certainly the most unique in this series. There is no other Mario Kart game like it which is a lot of what makes it so much fun to play. Even though there are only 16 courses in the game, they are all so fun to play that it doesn't feel like anything is missing or that there should be more. The character selection is great as well as the items. The gameplay overall is very enjoyable.

Huh, why does everyone always point out that Mario Kart 7 has no VS mode,
WHILE 64 AND Double Dash also don't have one, and no one doesn't mind that??!!
I dunno about you, but I think 7 is by far better then Double Dash and 64
they don't even have singleplayer battle modes, which 7 DOES have

(7 is alongside DS my favorite though)
