I own a gorgeous brown 2014 RX and it's a dream to drive. Love it on road trips! Not one squeak or rattle. Smooth as butter. Bought it after my 99 RX finally died. The Lexus RX is the perfect used car buy!

These RX450h's are reliable as hell. The 3rd Gen RX was the best one made out of the bunch (IMO). My Mom is a realtor. She owns a silver 2015 RX450h. She bought it new in 12/2014. Her RX450h gave her no issues at all. She knew about the infamous 2GR timing cover leak (she previously owned a 2009 ES350 with the same issue which she had repaired). She had the timing cover leak issue on her RX450h updated with new sealer repaired at 30k miles as preventative done at the Lexus dealership. Her RX450h now has 375k miles on it. It still looks new. Its garage kept. It was dealer maintained until the warranty went out. She now takes her RX to LexTechs of Atlanta for all repairs and preventative maintenance. The battery went out at 290k. LexTechs installed a brand new Toyota/Lexus OEM hybrid battery. They also keep the EGR cleaned out as well everytime she takes it in for a big service. She keeps it detailed and a set of Michelins on it. She loves that truck. She plans on driving it to 600k miles until she buys a new one.

For some reason my mind has so much trouble comprehending the fact that 2015 was 10 years ago. Its hard to believe it. All the cars from then still look pretty modern. But then i have to remember how did Youtube videos look back then, the smart phones we were rocking back then (iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6), the FACT THAT I WAS A FRESHMAN IN HIGHSCHOOL). Back then my biggest concern was tryna date some girl and pass a test. Now its fixing my car, buying tools, paying bills, trying to learn more on how to be a mechanic, figuring out a good work life balence. Once I put it into perspective like that, then I realize yeah its been 10 years.

There was a Lexus RX hybrid NYC taxi. If it can survive that, it can survive anything. These are great used cars and almost indestructible.

I have a good friend in Texas who has a 2015 RX 450 H with only 70, 000 miles on it. That is one of the quietest and most comfortable cars I have written in and the quality speaks for itself.

Despite the fact that this generation of the RX was the smallest SUV Lexus made at the time (the NX started production on 2015, the last year of this body style), it's still quite large. Fun fact: in many countries, these came with a N/A 4 cylinder engine (the same 2.7 i4 from the Highlander/Venza), probably because they didn't get the Venza.

I was looking at getting one, until I realized it takes premium, With the mpg difference being so small vs the rx350 that takes regular. I imagine it evens out in overall cost. but the hybrid has more that can go wrong
