Update: Violet Evergarden: The Movie will release BD/DVD and also be available on Netflix on the upcoming 13th Oct 2021.

Violet Evergarden is now in cinema in Japan. And like many of you out there, I am the one that will not be able to enjoy the movie on it's debut. But I think you will all agree with me that the stories that all of us experienced so far with the series are the most beautiful and memoriable ones, which personally, still live in my heart till today. I know that we're still fighting really hard with COVID-19 out there, and worries so much about that. But to me, all the stories that we already experienced in Violet Evergarden, I believe can soothe us and give us more courage to fight for. So, I hope that we, the remaining part of the world, will have the chance to experience this - hopefully - beautiful, emotional and memoriable work soon.

Until then, let's relax and let your memories live up once again with the theme song of the upcoming moive. Don't forget that Violet Evergarden: The Movie is now in cinema in Japan.

On this day last year, at this exact moment, I am writing my personal review and feelings about Violet Evergarden The Movie right after I watched it in the cinema. So yes, it's a year already.

I am really happy about how this beautiful and heartwarming story continues to spread today. Thank you, KyoAni, for the anime. And thank you to every single one of you who continues to spread and keep this legend alive.

Spoilers from the new movie be warned

You can just tell how much violet wanted to say i love you and how much he meant to her. All she could say was 'I' and 'major', the first words she uttered as a child. Such raw emotions. Someone who was raised as a tool, can cry so genuinely. The major who never cries in front of anyone else, broke down infront of the one he loves.

(Spoilers as i go deep into their philosophy)
He felt guilty, he felt undeserving of even touching her, consoling her after what he felt he forced her to go through. He couldn't protect her, he caused her to lose her arms, he couldn't give her a happy childhood she deserves but in the end, he still loves her. He couldn't stand being separated from her even a second longer, not being with her as she goes through life. He was afraid of what might happen to her and can't stand the thought of her suffering on his behalf. All he needed was an answer, he needs to know how she feels no matter, whether its love or not, and then he could die happily knowing she has matured. Thankfully, it was a happy reunion.

She was saved by him. Brought out of abuse, given a purpose and someone to protect. At first, he thought it was for protection but eventually both reliased it was out of love. She loved him ever since they first hugged, even before he confessed, he was the first light to her ever perpetual darkness. She would do anything to protect him. He is her first and only true romantic relationship she ever develops. No matter who else tried to charm her, she won't allow it because the one she loves has always been around her neck.

Spoilers. They eventually vowed to be together forever and never leave each other side. They affirmed that they are the only one for one another and sealed the deal with a kiss. Both are disabled. One lost both arms, one lost an arm and an eye. But if you asked them, they would unquestionably say it was all worth it as their impact on one another is and will always be priceless. They would do it again in a heartbeat.

Since childhood, he has a fear of loneliness. As a high ranking militant, he was sought out for status instead of authenticity. But now he has reunited with the one he loves and the same goes for her. If there is another season, it would dive into their respective insecurities as they have to spend time apart due to their respective jobs. Finally vented. 😞 Thank you for such a well crafted story.

My heart is still recovering from reading the novel but as the author put in the epilogue, remember no matter what you are going through, violet will be waiting. No matter the place, time or situation. She truly is extremely precious and a masterful piece of creation.

when Major says "raise your head I want to wipe your tears" it feels so warm. I dint cry that much but I will always treasure this anime for teaching us different kinds of feelings and giving us the meaning of " Watashi Wa, anata o aishiteimasu "

I was crying my ass of out of this I literally cried four times when the flashback of Ann came, Yurith story, Gilbert reading the letter with his brother and finally with Gilbert saying I love you to Violet I don't know how they pulled out such an amazing anime using just pure imagination and such a beautiful art it's such a masterpiece and this kind of story will never gonna come true and a masterpiece has come to an end by a masterclass producer KyoAni I hope there will be an OVA for the Afterstory and so now the waiting game again shall begin until KyoAni produces a new Anime with its outstanding story with beautiful art we will just have to wait and see times flows.

When textbooks described war as something dreadful n all, I never understood, thought wars only give few casualties and economic crisis, but this anime made me realize the few casualties doesn't necessarily mean death but the pain to everyone around them, loosing someone important and trying to live with that after war, the after effects of war are just as dreadful as the process, it's really an eye opener, may no one ever goes into war n everyone be in peace (though I know that's just a wish that may not come true in this life masterpiece of anime with one of the best animations n music and raw emotions
