I have the One RS 1 inch edition and mainly for the high quality 360 photos. I also have the X2, but almost never use it anymore. I'm waiting for the successor of the 1 inch edition. The higher resoltution the better. But until that time I go for the RS 1 inch edition.

I fully agree with your thoughts. If quality is the priority the RS 1-inch is clearly the way to go. It very depends on needs and workflow (for instance, RS 1-inch can be used in conjunction with more expensive cameras as the output has higher quality).

what should you choose if you do off-road riding??? I just drive over trails, nothing crazy, might crawl over things... Would be nice if it could capture some drifting, suspension travel, tires diging into mud but also my GF and I sitting in the Yamaha RMAX2 SE buggy while driving...

in terms of 35mm equivalent parlance, what is the min and max focal length of One Rs 1inch and insta360 x3?

also, related but different question - what is the max zoom (35mm equivalent focal length) we can operate without any shakes, comfortably, for handheld still photography. i intend to use it like a pocket camera for landscape photography.

I’ve bought insta one es 1 inch 4 days ago, I think the only capabilities that I like is the low light performance… one x 3 does the rest

I have both. There is no dive case for the one-inch model that works well without spending US$1600 or more and that case still shows the nadir. The absolute best is the invisible case for the X3. There are some cases for sale on Amazon that say they are for the One-inch but the Insta360 Studio doesn't recognize them and will not properly stitch the footage. I have gone around and around with Insta360 about this and told them they need to make and invisible case for the one-inch and they claim it is not an action cam so they aren't going to do it. Very disappointing. Both area great cameras but I live on an island so need something that can take decent underwater images and vids. Like you, I am keeping mine as it does a lot of things well, but the X3 is probably what you want for overall travel.

If I understood Insta360's concept, the modularity is supposed to be a big plus for hardware upgrades. Could you foresee this becoming an 8K30 camera via a new (modular) upgrade to one part of it? Or is the lens the determining factor for 6K30?

Good video. Also note that the One RS 1" is not an action camera. it's too heavy for that.
