nice rundown and use case video. I have both X3 and 1-inch. Personally I think for everyday use, the X3 is my go to, but when it gets dark or well-lit indoors, that's where the 1-inch shines. It's not perfect, but vs the X3, it's much better. I originally bought the X3 for underwater, but after a few tests, it's pretty useless the closer you get to the stitch lines, meaning it's totally useless as an invisible selfie stick camera underwater.

I own every single generation of GoPro there has ever been made in clouding the Fusion and the MAX, I also own the Insta360 X3 and the RS 1inch and both the Insta360’s are hands down a better, more reliable camera. Every single GoPro has had freezing problems, overheating problems, connectivity problems, even my Hero 9 showed up DOA and was unable to contact customer service until I finally complained nonstop on Twitter and was finally able to finally talk to a real person after threatening to sue, I was then told that the camera was no longer under warranty and I would have to pay the $50 despite the camera never had even been turned on, it showed up DOA, and then they gave me the “you failed to register it” again, the camera showed up DOA. I PAID THE $50 and got a POS reconditioned Hero 9 to replace my brand new one that never worked. GoPro is a garbage company and I will never buy another one. I have had absolutely no issues at all with either of my Insta 360’s works every time without fail.

the one incher is next on me list...I currently have been using the x3 and it works great. Can see the one inch making huge difference when sun starts goin down...will be in Hurricane Utah shooting an off road segment next month and may snag one prior.

I don't use mine that often, opting more often for the R and RS's now discontinued non-360 1-inch lens mod. But when I need 360, the 1-inch 360 is the quality king.

After reframing and exporting a video, the final result still has some barrel distortion. Does the Insta360 Studio deal with this distortion?

Thank you for the comprehensive summary. For me the camera was a big disappointment because in 6k quality the maximum recording time is 25 minutes. And the quality of the exported video is only good in promo videos, the quality of the home image processing is below critical. And support asks me to check the camera's temperature with a thermometer to address my complaint. I've concluded that I will sell the camera if someone buys it.

When you put the camera on top of your car, did you have any concerns of dust/dirt/bugs harming the lens?

Im upgrading to this from my Theta 360 camera which I have been using mostly for pictures. But If I could ask for an upgrade for this somewhat gimmicky-camera it would be to be able to fold teh lens part so both lenses could be facing the same direction and by doing that giving it a stereoscopic mode. So you can have 360 or stereoscopic (3D) from the same camera.

How do you compare and determine which camera is better since these two cameras are in different categories? One is a 360 degree camera, the other is an action camera? How do you compare a giraffe and a crocodile and say which is redder in color?

At 5:59 is that on your roof? And can you see the wheels too? I bought an Yamaha RMAX2 SE last week (yay 🤪) and was wondering if I need 1 or 2 Insta's... And if 2, should I place them on the hood and the trunk (so front/rear) or at left and right door on a stick? I just want to see lol.... So my girlfriend and I, but also the wheels eating sand/mud/rocks/dust as well as suspension travel as well as drifting the RMAX as well as crawling over rocks etc... You know...
And I think the "only point and shoot" is a good thing! Everytime I did a cool thing with my Yamaha Grizzly 700, and my GF was filming it, she somehow messed up heheheh... So now she just has to hold it on the stick, so should work better now lol.

Is it possible to plug in a powerbank while using and run it straight for a long time? I use the gopro max for paragliding time lapse. Flights up to 10hours. Not time to swap battery or recharge. Start rec a take off, stop after landing...
