As this went, I kept thinking that with the cello, violin, and winds, what can really be done to make the Halo theme more Irish? And then the bodhran kicked in and the bouzouki joined and the vocals were taken over by the tin whistle, and it all made sense.

I actually played Halo in high school orchestra, so this reminded me a lot of that, then the drop with the extra instruments was fantastic and perfect

Side note: everyone always talks about his vocals, and rightfully so, but can we take a minute to truly appreciate his skill in all of those instruments? The cello and violin parts are really quite technical (as I'm sure are the others, but I'm not as familiar with those instruments)

want to know what I realized? the Halo Theme is already written in some sort of gaelic/nordic type of style, this just makes that sound better

That last note ( E1 in the backing vocals) a subharmonic note probably, can we just take a moment to appreciate never actually heard him sing that it is clear that he is getting even better. Absolutely amazing!!!

I find it interesting that he didn't even have to make the song sound more Irish by adding more bits. The song just naturally sounds like that when he uses Irish instruments.

When ever I watch a cover that has ANYTHING to do with Halo, I turn it on, and close my eyes. If I get the chills, I know its a winner. Took about 35 seconds to start, and then 50 when the cello came in, we had a winner!
