What hurt me most is that she was working till 2am and when the patient load was less at that time, she went into the seminar with her books as her only belongings. She was still planning to study even when she was supposed to rest while waiting for emergency calls in the middle of the late night. We live in this country, work for this country, pay taxes yet we can't step out at night, have to think twice before wearing any attire and are subjected to chauvinistic behaviours. Her dad found her naked, lying motionless on the floor with a broken pelvic girdle, disfigured limbs and shattered pieces of glasses in her eyes, bleeding incessantly. Her plight in those final minutes is unimaginable. Her parents were denied any contact with her dead body for 3 hours after they reached the crime scene. 15 mg of semen was found in her body, one man can only have 1 to 5 mg. A scapegoat is in custody. Dean said she was psychotic. After the transfer to CBI, renovation work started in the hospital. At this point it's not just a doctor issue anymore, it's just inhumane. We keep unlocking lower levels of inhumanity year after year. Fools were those, who even hoped there would be reforms after the Nirbhaya case. It's been 12 years. Nothing has changed. Saw some Instagram stories saying that it's a crime to be a doctor in this country.

It's not a crime to be a doctor in this country, IT'S A CRIME TO HOPE IN THIS COUNTRY.

#UPDATE: When the Principal of RG Kar Hospital Dr. Sandip Ghosh resigned from his post, within 4 hours he was reappointed by the state as principal of National Medical College Kolkata. The Calcutta High Court in its hearing yesterday expressed 'shock' that how a person can be rewarded with a post after such an incident and ordered an investigation on it. Hearing this Dr. Ghosh applied for 15 days leave. The court has further ordered that while the case is in motion, Dr. Ghosh can not be given any Principal or related post in this time. This case has been transfered to the CBI for investigation by the Hon. High Court yesterday.
