'Is it too late?' Royal experts discuss latest news about Prince Harry bombshell book

The autumn flurry of royal books has arrived, bringing with it some extraordinary revelations for our panel to unpick. One book not out yet, but still making headlines, is the first volume of Prince Harry’s memoirs. The Mail on Sunday reported that Prince Harry had asked his publishers to tone down some of his remarks in it following the Queen's death. The Daily Mail’s royal editor Rebecca English believes that it is too little too late. ‘I know this sounds a little bit harsh, but Harry should have thought about all of this before he did a deal. He did a deal for a book at a time when his grandmother was very elderly,’ she tells the programme. ‘It’s something that should have come into his decision-making process as to whether to even do this.’

Titles for non working royals serve no purpose other than giving an enormous amount of blatant privilege to the person getting it and it comes with a packaged danger of it being misused for commercial gain and more access to power for that individual only. Which in turn puts the monarchy’s existence itself in danger.
I would be shocked if Charles gave any titles to Californians. In addition, H&M titles should be removed completely, nobody should have a birth right to anything without the responsibility.

Why should children living in the US, at least one a US citizen, get British titles? It’s absurd. We don’t have titles in the US. They should not even be used for H &M because they are living here now. The children will be ridiculed if they go to any public or private school. It’s actually sickening. I am half British and like the monarchy, but not for permanent residents of the US.

I cried at the beautiful montage at the end of the programme. It was very moving. My daughter and I drove up overnight from Corwall to attend the Queen's funeral and stood with hundreds of others along Constitution Hill to catch a glimpse of the Queen's funeral procession going by. It was an honour to be there. The Queen will be greatly missed. RIP Your Majesty 🙏 XXX
