Intuitive Bottle Feeding for Breastfed Babies

Показать описание
You can use the intuitive technique to guide your baby's bottle feeds. Pacing feeds in this way helps to prevent overfeeding and reduces the likelihood of your baby developing "nipple confusion" or refusing the breast. Ideally, bottle feeds last about 15-20 minutes—you can take breaks as shown to pace your feed accordingly!

So, my husband and I just bought a new Avent feeding bottle with nipple #2 for 1+ month since our babu just turned 1 yesterday. However, when we tried feeding her with it yesterday evening there was really a lot of milk coming out of her mouth. Of course I got stressed (since she doesn't breastfeed from me). I looked up in Google to read more how to properly bottle feed baby and eventually got to see this video here on YouTube. After watching, my baby woke up (so timely) and I god myself prepared to bottle feed her as what I have seen in this video and it worked! From 4oz to NO spills 🥹 I am so happy! Indeed! This video is a GREAT help! 🙏

Are avent natural bottles for 1 month + supposed to drip when they are inverted? Just got one for my baby but the bottle doesn't drip at all. This video seems really helpful. I am about to try bottle feed my breastfed baby for the first time.

A me comunque mi hanno insegnato che la tettarella deve essere sempre piena di latte e non metà per evitare che il neonato succhi aria e abbia coliche

I like this video - EXCEPT, you could teach parents that the GAPE reflex of an infant actually is ellicited on the CHIN, not the upper lip. This is a common error that is parroted by many IBCLC's, but is unfortunately incorrect - ask any SLP or OT. This is an unhealthy habit, to not activate the gape reflex properly. It would be great if you could correct this information. Inhibiting this reflex is actually harmful to normal child development. Also, a better nipple to use would be a larger pyramid shape like the Evenflo balance plus, or Lansinoh naturalwave, Pigeon or Quark, Dr Brown's is one of the worst for breast - to - bottle transition. My last comment is you should be 'responsive' or tipping milk flow away when baby is not sucking - not when the baby IS still sucking, that is not at all responsive feeding! The other way to improve breast to bottle transition is to always start the feed with ZERO milk flow, as the breast does not let down milk immediately. I appreciate all of your intentions - you make the right points, but the demonstrations miss the mark.
