I can relate to this. It didn't happen with snow or else, inside a garage. This happened last year on the last day of September, & my father told us if we had seen my uncle around the house or anywhere? *We* were just my brother, mother, & I, & we were home, doing the usual stuff. My mother told him that he arrived home late at around 3 of the morning, & we obviously knew because we had cameras. My father couldn't see through them because he was working far away, but contacted the people my uncle used to work with, or his friends, & most of them replied with a "no". I usually feel a presence when someone gets home like my father or uncle because they get inside late, but this time, it felt really unusual because I didn't remember him walking inside. I also thought he was home because I heard noises coming from his room, but it was just the neighbors who lived in the basement. My mother, around the afternoon, told me to check the garage after my father asked her again.

This is where I got mostly traumatized, because when I got in the garage, it was filled with the most venomous gas you ever imagined. Almost 12 hrs had passed by since he got home, & we never checked if he was in the garage. Before I saw him, I tried to advance because it felt really weird. Once I got inside, I realized that my uncle apparently left the windows opened, & so I went back outside because I couldn't resist, I completely turned off the car, & tried to get to the driver's side of the car. When I got there, I tried to wake him up, but he didn't't react. I moved him, or talked to him, nothing happened. When I grabbed his arm, it was so hot, but yet I managed to grab it. He was so stiff as a tree branch, you could barely move him. I ran back to the house, told my mother the news, & when she got outside, she managed to get in the garage safely without inhaling the gas because it was gone. We called 911, & once they got there, we explained everything. It turned out, he slept without knowing that he left the car on, & none of us didn't have the chance to tell him goodbye. Nowadays, I understand a little more about the things that went wrong that day(May my uncle rest in peace).

But my message to yall is to never sleep inside a car, mostly one that is turned on because you don't get to inhale air in both. Please stay safe, & try to warn others who also have this kind of thing where they sleep inside of cars.

it’s actually pretty scary, bc the human body has no mechanism for detecting oxygen levels directly and instead measures carbon dioxide levels. so you could be breathing in CO, which is odorless, and never know you’re dying from a lack of oxygen, bc you’re still breathing out CO2.

True story: a women slept in her car in a winter storm with the engine running. The snow covered the pipe and she di3d due to carbon monoxide poisoning (I think so)
