the ending to this epsiode is so genius that it makes me emotional. this show was something else. i'm speechless

There is something really special about this part of the Sopranos. So many things pour through my heart. A.J. realizing his dad is in the mafia. Meadow the way she enters the frame as to say I told you so without saying a word. The damn song. Tony giving a wink to his son as he is realizing the truth. Realizing James is gone now. I must of watched it to many times to count and Mazzy Star is def in my playlist now.

This song to me demonstrates AJ losing his innocence, and foreshadowing his eventual depression in the series. Even though people say AJ was an idiot, I think there’s an element of hopelessness that AJ feels that is quite sad

This is the ending that initially hooked me to the show. That wink Tony gives to his son, not knowing AJ is now aware of his true profession.
AJ feels like he didnt even know his dad up until this point and probably feels betrayed in a way for being lied to.

It's the death of his innocence. A defining moment in Anthony Jr's life. What would become of him? Did he ever want this? His reaction is not "wow, this is cool". It seems more like one of fear and sad realization that his father wasn't a perfect man.
