1.5 million refugees so far in Poland, said Polish President Andrzej Duda 12 hours ago in a press briefing, and as of yet, "they have not been sent to any camps and refugees camps. They have been accepted and received by Polish families in Polish homes." As in, citizens are literally all boarding the fleeing refugees in their own houses. The support and help they are giving to Ukranians under this terrible attack is just amazing.

I just came back from a shopping mall in Kraków, PL connected directly to the main Railway Station. I help there as a volunteer since I'm fluent in Russian and English. Once I finished my shift I just lit a cigarette and bursted into tears. Thousands of people are coming every day with no money, no food, no toothbrushes, literally nothing. Only with their loved ones and pets. The queue to the bathrooms are about 2 hours long wait . It breaks my heart every time we have to tell those miserable people they must wait a couple of hours to register to get an accommodation, since there are so many of them. We are doing everything a regular person who also has to work their 9 to 5 can, but the vastness of this suffering is unbearable.

We Polish embrace the Ukrainians with all the love, that we were once refused by many in our worst days. Not trying to blame anyone - now the world seems to have bigger hearts then ever - but our history has dragged us through really rough places for decades and this made entire generations stronger and kinder. Just love your neighbour, as simple as that. 🇺🇦💔🇵🇱

My wife's family in Poland is boarding several Ukrainian people, just like many other people throughout Poland. I know from first hand experience that they are a very 'welcoming' culture. They really know how to treat their guests right. I produced a piano song with my band in Chicago last week that we posted on YouTube that payed tribute to the Ukrainian people. Anyway, a News source from Odessa liked it and linked it to their Website and it played it until yesterday. It was actually kind of exciting because it generated a lot of views, and also I got to communicate with a lot of different Ukrainian people who are over there through "Google Translate". The bad thing is that since I started talking to a lot of Ukrainian people and watching a lot of the coverage that is on Social Media, I really have been in a lousy mood lately. I really do feel bad for the people who are in this horrible situation. I hope that they can stand their ground against Russia. Anyway, the band is only about six months old, and we have about 20-something original songs posted already. In fact we were in the studio recording another one today. Arm Ukraine with air defense systems and jets so they can establish their own no fly zone. Increase domestic oil production in western nations. Never end the sanctions on Russia until they remove Putin and disarm and deactivate all their nuclear weapons. Then the rest of the nations can do the same.

The West will never understand why Poles help Ukrainians so much. The West does not know our difficult Polish history. The West knows nothing about the Volhynia Massacre and does not know the words of Father Jerzy "do not let yourself be overcome by evil - but overcome evil with good". The West betrayed Poland in 1939, and later betrayed in Yalta. He refused the Poles to participate in the victory parades because the West was afraid of Stalin.
