As a native American English speaker, I get an absurd amount of guilty pleasure for already being able to speak like this.

I also deeply respect all of you guys putting this amount of effort into learning our language! It's hard work, I know, but it'll be deeply rewarding.

Keep up the good work! 👏🏼👏🏼

This gives me insight into how non native English speakers have trouble picking up our language. I assume reductions exist in most languages, which would make it difficult for Americans to learn foreign languages. Apparently some professions have their own reductions too. Ever listen to recordings of conversations between pilots, or between pilots and air traffic controllers? This native speaker of English from Indiana is lucky to understand more than a third of the words ! !

My grammar's book speaks about reductions all the time. All languages has reduction unless we're a robot, we always speak with them. In Spanish for example we don't say "los ojos", we say "losojos". I love your classes guys.

Hi Rachel. Your videos are very helpful in improving my English. My problem is that I listen to English and I understand, I read and understand but I don't speak English fluently. I don't know where it comes from but when I listen or read English I understand words which I don't remember when I try to speak. Today I watched on YouTube videos of a man who is a pilot of Boeing 747. He talked about avionics, navigation etc. and I think I understood about 90% of what he said but even though I understand it I'm far from speaking English like him. But I try my best and your videos are very helpful. Greetings from Poland.

I always thought there was a reason why I couldn't understand and speak English, even after watching many videos and understanding more and more words, I was always faced with strange ways of saying things, now I can say that my suspicions were true, so It only remains to say, thank you very much for this class, this lesson has changed the way I learn from now on.
