Gypsy has some incredible classic songs that few outside of St. Louis have heard. It's a shame they never got their due.

"Gypsy Queen Part 2" -- Perhaps you were hearing the similarity to "Stormy" by Classics IV.

Jeez, Justin. You really have a lot of OLD HIPPIES in your subscriber base. 😁 I've heard OF Gypsy but never got around to hearing any of their music. It sort of makes me think that this is what Ambrosia would have sounded like had they started 5 years earlier. And the reason it's reminding you of something else is that melodically it's derivative of a lot of other American melodic pop happening at the time. BS&T, Chicago, 3 Dog Night -- all that stuff, even veering into Motown land. The Latin percussion also places their sound closer to the SF axis of groups, but overall it's all very slick. Maybe a bit too slick for its own good, like you can tell they're all great players and singers and could probably tackle just about anything. But again, a bit derivative and lacking anything essentially original for my tastes.

Not bad but it does sound like so much other music from the time.
