Do be careful though!! Due to the rooster being smaller sometimes they’ll grab the hen’s comb to hold on, it can harm the combs very badly!!

We had a rhode island red rooster who gave his life to protect our hens from a dog. His name was Lucky. Biggest one we ever had, likely a prize rooster, and was friendly too. Would even do that mating dance to you 😅Man I miss him rip Lucky. His brother Junior is still alive today.

I recently got two chunky hens and my roosters LOVE them, especially a Red Orpington named Tango. Several times I have stepped outside and saw Tango being squished into the ground by one of my roosters :[ She would be absolutely pancaked, and if it was on the grass she’d be nearly invisible.
