IMHO. I consider other things a factor like outside temps, wind block and generally how fast /effective is the heat transferring to the water. width/intensity of heat does matter but other things matter just as much. C.R.

This stove is really efficient but a lot of heat and flame is lost on the outside of the cup. Using a wider cup could improve the boiling time even further. My favourite in the field are the fancy feast stoves.
