We used to stuff pitted dates with walnut haves, pack them in a jar and pour rum on them. Mom did them the day after Thanksgiving to be ready for Christmas. WE let them ripen in the basement fridge.. that and a cup of black coffee was a great dessert. She would buy joke items and wrap them all year long. That was the box we opened at the table on Christmas eve with our " rummy dates😅😅😅🎉🎉". I remember my college age brother got a bar stool safety belt. And I got a huge " zipper upper " that looked like a diamond ring on a chain. Then my boy friend asked me if I'd rather have what was in his hand. I had no idea he had the real engagement ring. 😅😅😅 I'm 79 and still smile about it. DATES! WHO'D HAVE THUNK IT??

We have been doing this in Saudi Arabia for AGES! It’s usually in events and celebrations! It’s considered a fancy way of presenting dates in the country of dates!

Being Arab and growing with dates in my home and everyon else’s house we do this sometimes, bt my fav way to eat it is to mosh few soft dates together and work with them until thy r combined and sticky. Then go and spread the to a fine shape doesn’t matter then fry them with a little of butter and the burn tht u see is actually caramelized dates it is crunchy bt so soft inside. Most Arabs don’t do tht bt my mom used to do it for us as kids and now I do it

I like placing an almond in them wrapping them in baccon and then placing them in the oven until the bacon is done. They are so so good. Sweet and salty

in Saudi Arabia we have so many varieties of dates and even though it's not traditional to eat it like that but it looks delicious, definitely gonna try it with pecans😋

Thank you for sharing this recipe with use of Date fruits nuts and Peanut butter and dip it into chocolate and sprinkles of course salt and place in freezer and remove it later .it tastes like a snicker bar candy. AWESOME.
