The fact that he turns the "no peace" quote in his book into "know peace" hits differently

What a bloody good comic it was, even for non-turtles fans.

Shredder in hell is a fantastic run. Its an entire story dedicated to exploring Shredders complicated history with Splinter who acts as his guide and support through the entire story. Its epic, its sad, its cool, and its touching all at the same time.

The ending made me happy cause we got to see the brothers reunited and happy

As far as I know Don doesn't die in that one, he gets uploaded to Metalhead while his body is being fixed up.
And hoo boy, you'll probably get to deal with this all over again when The Last Ronin game comes out.

Please read the sequel / prequel book to Last Ronin called TMNT The Last Ronin Lost years.

Definitely recommend The Lost Year, as besides giving more backstory to Mickey’s time training, we also see the new generation of Turtles April and Cassie have created.

This comic still hits deep cuz from the goofy happy loving turtle's we all know and love to seeing them die while at the same time watching Micky suffer is something that truly shows us how realistic TMNT truly is or can be

The original Mirage run.

Mostly the first two or three issues since that was before they intended to turn it into a full series and it got *weird*

But the classic comics are pretty damn good, and honestly the late mirage era before Dark Horse took over, while insane, is also pretty damn entertaining.

When I first read this, I cried because I have 5 brothers and I can't imagine losing all of them.

They didn’t kill off Donatello in the one ninja turtle comic that you mentioned, they put his subconscious into metalhead and kept his body intact

The fact that theyre taking this story and turning into a game AND a movie, really speaks to how good it is

IDW's ninja turtles ghost crossover, it was awesome and you get to see how well written both of them are by IDW

Fun fact: The Last Robin and The issue where they kill Donatello were written by the same writers

"City at War" is one of the greatest TMNT stories of all time (introduction of Karai and return of Eastman/Laird as a writing duo). "City Fall" from IDW's run is really great; I also recommend all of IDW #1–100, especially 1–50, solid overall story arc that the original comics missed, and does a great job of including elements from all the previous versions of TMNT lore.

There are a few one-shots like "Old Times" and the '80s character minis. The first 12(ish) issues of Mirage plus the Raph and Leo one-shots are the basis of the first live-action film (minus a couple books in between). There are several good storylines from Tales of the TMNT, specifically "Gang Wars" but good luck trying to find those, they were sporadically published so you have to read non-consecutive issues to get the story.

I loved the Batman/TMNT crossover and so far The Last Ronin follow-ups are top-tier. The current Jason Aaron reboot is getting rave reviews and breaking sales records... personally I'm not super-sold yet but I think that has more to do with the way the previous writers kinda steered it off a cliff, it definitely looks promising.

TMNT: The Last Ronin is truly a phenomenal comic book. I couldn't help but cry towards the end of the book.

I'm in this one too, since middle school I have been interested in read the tmnt comics/mangas but I can't find many that had this ansty-happy ending or hurt-confort vibes that I need for this characters because they bring so much joy in animation, I can't believe their comic are usually tragic 😢
