The Jupiter 4 is 4 note polyphonic synth, has 4 oscillators, & 4 sub oscillators, sounds fat, & is a breeze to program!
With 1 LFO, the Jupiter 4 has fantastic flexibility for strange FX, FM sounds & complicated sound design. It is in fact 4 Roland SH101s in a box. The 4 oscillators are so individual, it is like have 4 separate synthesizers playing at once!

I've had my JP-4 since 1983, built in 1979. it is a beautiful raw sounding beast.. sounds like no other Jupiter..

The first time I saw and heard a JP4 was in the early 1980s a band named the Mad Shadows playing live in London, their keyboard player was Ian Curnow, I was blown away by the sound,

This is the only Jupiter I’ve never seen in the flesh. Hope to try one some day, sounds beautiful. Like a Juno 60 but different.

I think the older and simpler Jupiter-4 actually sounds better than the much-vaunted Jupiter-8 (and that’s saying something because the Jupiter-8 sounds fantastic).
