After 8 years, still one of the finest explanations of the release. The drill with the sticks on the floor is gold dust, a light bulb moment for anyone unsure of the way the club moves through the ball 👍

The absolute best instruction video ever. Played many years thinking I must roll the wrist thru the impact zone, relying on perfect timing for success. This video explained it better then it ever. My accuracy and distance has improved. The biggest difference is my confidence, I know I am going to play well and hit the ball solid. I do not have to rely on a good day of perfect timing to have a good round.
Thanks Mark

Every better golfer I know, knows this Mark Crossfield guy as one of the most knowledgeable golfers on the web. It's explanations like this that cut through the snake oil out there. If you were local I'd take lessons from you. Thanks!

In thirty years of playing, by far, the best explanation of the release I have seen.

A great and clear demonstration of the release. I have been struggling with this for years, after being told to turn the wrists, few minutes of your simple explanation, all is clear. Thanks Mark.

this is possibly the most brilliant golf vid on YT, exposes the myth of the crossing rists, forearms etc,

in the past when ive tried to consciously 'roll the wrists, forearms, al it does is smother the ball, usually a pull hook,
with modern golf equipment, steel shafts etc, gold moved from a handsey game to a 'body' game, its the trunk of the body + good leg action that releases the club = perfect release of stored up energy, after all when we play a truly great real golf shot i bet all golfers feel their body and legs have worked in tandem to smoothly launch the ball, the arms and hands have merely been holding on for the ride
nice one Mark

Just watched Mark repeat the story in a video 2 of years ago. Not only is it consistent, but it also means he must love to us see folks benefit. Thumbs up! (and still thanks for getting my attention to the Crossy wedge which is doing me great service in the muddy Dutch offseason which this year is turning out muddier than ever)

Mark, Best video of the summer. Nobody has done a better job of how the body/hands/arms/hips should sequence on the swing. Bravo. Every golfer needs to see this.

My handicap came down from 22 to 13 last year and i largely accredit it to this video and not trying to scream every ball a mile. It's taking time to develop the rhythm and i have a long way to go but a big thank you for this. I love all the videos but this one is invaluable. Thanks.

Have been trying different Youtube golf video tips for a few years. This is by far the best tip and easy to understand and perform fundamental golf swing I've tried. I'm usually terribly inconsistent with iron strikes but after practicing this open body and "thumb" positions through the swing it has dramatically improved the quality of my iron shots. Stronger contact and more consistent shots nearer to my target. Thank you for this tip!

I know this video is two years old, but I can't thank you enough for it. This is the explanation I've been looking for for YEARS! I'm a huge supporter of yours mark, and I'm surprised I haven't found it sooner! Thank you!

I’ve just watched this video and wish I’d seen it years ago. When I first started and had lessons I was told by my golf pro that I had to roll my hands over as that was how you got the club to release correctly. In reality all I did was snap hook and duff shots. Thanks Mark for another well explained video 👍.

This captures my entire disconnect between what i need to be doing, what my body thinks it is doing and what i am actually doing. At last, i finally actually understand the what everybody is talking about when they say "Release." Thank you Very Much!

I think this is the best video you've done. This is where 90% of golfers go wrong. well done mark

+Mark Crossfield you probably won't see this but I have been horrible struggling with a block because of a toe strike and this video just fixed me. Im so thankful you have no idea. It's been plaguing my game for months and I had tried almost everything. Never thought it could have been my release. I was rolling my wrists over big time (baseball background) thank you so much

This has to be one of the best explanations of the release I have found and really gets the message across that its about the body turning NOT your arms & wrists.

I LOVE the way you explain things!... You are a thinking man's pro... As we've all said a million times, this is a MENTAL game, and if I understand the 'how', it makes the execution so much easier... Brilliant!

Another example of you putting out the very best content, thanks Mark.

Great video Mark. I've been playing golf for 25 years and that was the simplest explanation of releasing the club I've heard. Keep up the great work!
