“My solitude doesn't depend on the presence or absence of people; on the contrary, I hate who steals my solitude without, in exchange, offering me true company.” - Friedrich Nietzsche

That very last line “...not responsible for everything, with people” is probably a big part of why I love my alone time. I always end up feeling responsible in some or many ways for anyone around me and their experience over mine.

In a world that is extremely overstimulating, being alone is the only real comfort I have in life.

I love being alone. It's exhausting to try and be friendly and talkative and just dealing with people. That includes my own family.

I use to think the worst thing in life was being alone. It's not. The worst thing in life, is being around people who make you feel alone.

Being comfortable alone is very important and usually people who like who they are are comfortable by themselves.

We’re meant to be with HEALTHY people. In a world where there’s hardly any healthy people left, you’re better off alone.

I was always with people, extrovert here 👋 then I needed to go to therapy to actually start enjoying my own presence. When you are too much with other people and avoid time alone that also means that you feel unsafe with yourself. The Truth lies in balance ⚖️

Its taken me 50 years to learn that it is actually quite ok to be alone. Being alone is wonderful. And every time I go out, I am reminded of why this is so.

Aloneness is the best thing that happened in my life. It has given me time to know myself better and self loved.

Words cannot express how I adore being alone. It’s nice to be around people (before Covid) but, even then, I can only tolerate short visits. I get drained by others too easily.

I isolated myself for about 2 years and it was like a brain reset. I definitely needed to do that not just for me but those i care about as well. I lost some friends but it’s better than having strained relationships and i pray everyone is doing well.

I love being alone. Every day on my lunch hour I go to the lake to just sit and enjoy the sound of the waves. As a teacher and mom of 4 it’s the only quiet time I get

Nah I need time to let my mind wander, daydream, read ect. And when you're around even just one person the best you'll get is 10 minutes uninterrupted. I also have to be social everyday because if I don't it can offset me into unproductive patterns. Balance is key.

I just spent 4 years alone. I needed it. It was the healthiest thing I could have done. And now, I'm only among people who are really great people

I like my alone time. I can focus on goals and myself 😊

I don’t agree with this. I could always be wrong but I think it’s healthy to have a balance of spending time both with people and be alone.

I don't feel safe with most people.

I used to love being around them. Fun! Growth! 💃! But the last few years:
They lie, project, judge, seek to one up me rather than help, use vulnerabilities against me, say I'm too sensitive, hate being called out on bad behavior, betray confidences, compete, whine, take without giving back, meltdown if you think differently than them, give you the silent TX when they don't get their way, not happy for your success...

Or it may just be me.
