Pipeline fire continues to burn along Spencer Highway in Deer Park more than 20 hours later

Natural gas liquid is burning from a pipeline owned by Energy Transfer and is impacting both the Deer Park and La Porte areas. Four people were injured.

How can something this dangerous, in this location, have only a chainlink fence to protect it?

Nobody 'accidentally' crashes through a fence and drives 150 feet before 'accidentally' crashing into a natural gas line.

According to the RRC GIS system, the ETC pipeline is listed as a "Highly Volatile Liquid" pipeline. Given how long is it burning, the liquid is flashing into a gas. HVL covers a lot of materials, but I would not be surprised if this is primarily an LPG line.

It will be interesting to find out who the registered owner of the vehicle is and whether or not there is a body in the vehicle.

What I don't understand is that we have a pipeline, maybe about 400 yd from our property. About 10 miles up the road, there's a shut off and more along the way. There should be another valve somewhere to shut that down.

If that SUV did that thru the fence from Walmart's lot. WHY is the fence still standing every where except the main gate to the facility? The gate is the only thing that is knocked down. Sounds like Bull shit to me!!! That SUV drove thru the gate and hit that valve!!!! It didn't come from Walmart lot like they are saying! The fence isn't damaged any where except the road side gate!!!!Plus if you look close there are tire tracks in the dirt leading from the gate to where the SUV is sitting. NOT from the direction of Walmart lot. Why you people LIE?

I walked thru the baseball field and got clise to the fire tooks some pictures but then i found a 3 month old kitten crying loud in the Fields bathroom. I got em to safety. You could hear in his meow he was scared.

my question is why in the hell is there 20 miles of pipe with out a shut off valve??? do you People think its wize to only have valves 20 to 30 miles apart??? Hell no its not!!!! every 5 or 10 miles there needs to be one so they can shut off the gas before and after a rupture like Plus its a SUV that crashed the gate and caused this???? It didnt come from Walmart lot the fence isnt damaged on that side! The SUV is facing Walmart not away from it!
