As a surg tech in school, I appreciate these videos so much. They are great tools for me and allow for the visual I need to understand it all.

Love how you guys can open the packages and get the contents on the table so smoothly. Im assuming that it takes a bit of practice.

Can you make a video on the CST Exam, like what they focus on and some ways to help be prepared for it?

Thank you for this!!! I am in a Periop program as a nurse and I was feeling like my "scrubbing" instruction was lacking! Now I'll be more confident!

Thank you for your videos. I'm over 70 now. I have had no operations at all before 2017. In 2017 and the first month of 2018 I had to have a total of 7 operations, mostly with general anesthesia. I have been curious to learn what was going on when I was unable to see and learn because of the anesthesia. Now you show me all that was happening around me when I was being operated on. That's a great deal.

I'm a medical device reprocessor and we sometimes have to help set up for surgeries too and I find we have some very similar but also different techniques. Even as a surgical processor I have to follow such sterile techniques, even when people think all I am is a surgical dishwasher 🙄 Love your videos!!

I really love that your unscrubbed (not sure position) person mentioned something on the fly- it is really they way an operating room should be and shows the way communication goes! Wonderful demo!

Love your channel. After 22yrs in another nursing specialty, I'm now in the OR and in the PeriOp 101 course and we have a huge portion of the course as scrub nurse and these videos have made me so much more confident. Will be scrubbing neurosurgery this coming week. Thanks again.

I had absolutely no idea there was so much to all this. Not in the medical field but this is really great stuff! I've subscribed. You deserve a cigar :D

I am starting my 2nd week of clinicals and my 1st week was terrifying. My very first case was 6.5 hours with a surgeon that did not like students so suffice to say it was a difficult first week. Watching this video before hand definently helped me from making dumb mistakes when setting up. Thank you

Shane, I gotta say thank you for making all these videos really breaking down what techs and other medical staff go through on a day to day basis. I honestly don't see myself in the medical field, but I still find medical topics and procedures fascinating.

You seem like a very nice guy all around and someone I would for sure want to work with (if I were in medical). Keep up the great videos!

Subbed. :)

It's just training and practice, it's good learning all the different specialities, also bear in mind different hospitals do things very differently, can be confusing doing agency cus they look at you as if you're wierd cus you do it differently to them, also bear in mind theatre is a very tense, stressful place and a lot of bullying goes on!! Unbelievable but true !!!

When I have students I always tell them KPRC, at Houston tx; it is known as channel 2 news, a lot of ppl know the channel. So what I tell them K stands for Knife( most of the time, ) after making an incision, I ask my students what happens when you cut yourself... you bleed. So I tell them usually they Drs use the bovie with Pickups. Which is P, afterwards after dissecting down they may need Retractors, which is R, keep going down might be a bleeder, or something they need to suture or something they need to cut or Clamp, which is C, C stands for all the instruments on the stringer ( from mosquitos to the large needle holder and scissors) it also helps to teach what kind of instrumentation needed for different cases. I get previous students tell me they use KPRC on cases they don't know much about but it helps to know what to expect. (seems like they know the body) That's why I am always hard on students on anatomy because you have to know "where" they are operating on so they can be better prepared._
