What an enlightened regent and such an academic. I love that he opened the library and reprinted books!

The twenty five years 1715-1740 were the best years of the eighteenth century for the French people, with peace, stability and prosperity. This was thanks to Philippe d'Orléans and his successor the Cardinal de Fleury. The Enlightenment came to fruition, while the Rococo style followed the Baroque, Watteau in many ways sums up the Regency era. Thank you for another enjoyable video.

It did surprise me that you didn't included the conspiration de Cellamare in depth which gives a good impression about the relationship of the Spanish and French Bourbons. I love your selection of pictures. Thank you for your work.

If you would ever be willing to do a series translating the works of La Palatine I think it would be wildly popular 💕

Thank you! My favorite passages in Saint Simon are those in which he attempts to get Philippe out of Paris and rule from Versailles.

I still can't get over the fact that he and his mother who criticized everything that Louis XIV did treated his wife horribly. As always your video is great these short videos are the only thing that makes me open youtube.

I think I detect a hint of jealousy on the King's part I think he despised the fact that Monseiur's kids were just more capable than Le Grand Dauphin

Thank you, I really enjoy your work and the wonderful images youve put together. Also, the comments from others here are great aswell. I wondered if the Missippi bubble collapse and John Law should not have mentioned. (As an aside, John Law is interesting himself, whilst being disgraced back then, was arguably an early visionary of Fiat currency which took off centuries later. )

We owe a lot of Parisiennne town houses to this man's credit. The court didn't return to Versailles until the reign of Louis XV.

He Was Actually The Nephew Of Louis XIV, Not His Cousin, But In Your Language They Are The Same, But I Know You Will Correct This Later. Anyway, The Life Of Phillippe II, Duke Of Orleans Was Very Interesting, He Was Interested In Science, And Had Great Military Prowess!!! It Was Very Fortunate That He Took Over The Regency And Handed Over A France That Was Economically And Socially STABLE To His Younger Third Cousin Louis XV When He Came Of Age. Another Great Video, I Can't Wait For The Next One About Henrietta Maria, The Sister Of Louis XIII And Queen Consort Of Charles I Of England!!! She Brought The Tradition Of Naming The Eldest Daughter Of The English/British Monarch Princess Royal. I Look Forward To Watching!!! 👑❤💙🇫🇷
