@Nishant Kasibhatla : please do a video on how to focus on multiple things at a time because its much needed in a workspace where we have to check mails and reply mails and at the same time I have to keep on a tab of what my subordinates are doing(over a walkie talkie) in addition to people barging in(part of work). Your quality input is much appreciated 🙏
I love the idea of single tasking but what if ur work is demanding multitasking and we are supposed to manage people and work simultaneously
Im already a follower of you and your methodology 🙏

Do you find age makes a difference or it really doesn't have anything to do with age?

The reason I'm asking is because that now I am 54, I have depression, I find it difficult to concentrate and/or to focus.

So I am trying to find out how to get better. Not sure if you have heard of Barbara Oakley the author of Learning How To Learn and there's even a free class online worth taking for people like myself.

I think part of the reason multitasking has become so prevalent is because we have lost our hierarchy of values. Think about the way things have been in the past, where religion usually occupied the pinnacle of values. Now there isn't a single religion in the world that I know of where it would make sense for the supplicant to multitask in the act of prayer. People don't struggle with this either, because it is an accepted high value activity to which full attention is devoted without FOMO. I am not suggesting that religion is needed for focus (it isn't the only source of value hierarchy), rather that hierarchy of values naturally provide us with a metric for focus. Western culture is today floundering in a value-system vacuum brought on by various mechanisms, and such we naturally behave like kids in a candy store where everything looks like an equal-value candy. Before we can move on to asserting better attention, we'll have to come up with a system by which we can determine what is and isn't worthy of attention. Otherwise we are back to square one (e.g. what good would it do if we single-tasked on watching Vines?)
