Why India & Russia Have Deep Military Ties | EAM S Jaishankar’s Straight Talk

India’s foreign minister S Jaishankar said that his country has a substantial inventory of Soviet and Russian weapons while speaking to mediapersons in Canberra on Monday. Jaishankar’s response came when he was asked about defence and strategic ties between India and Russia during a joint press conference with his Australian counterpart Penny Wong.
“We have a long-standing relationship with Russia, and this relationship has served our interests well. We have a substantial inventory of Soviet and Russian-origin weapons,” Jaishankar said.
It must be noted that the West, following the onset of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, has been critical of India-Russia ties.

For the Americans who don't know India have fought three wars with pakistan But during our second war we were less on weapons and food supplies and US refused to Supply us any weapons instead they sided with pakistan a military dictatorship at that time.We were facing food shortage in india so we asked for food supply too but they instead send us The rotten grains we Indians were empty stomach just to support our army in war against Pak.USA and UK had fallen so much that they even sent their subs to support pakistan when they were on the verge of losing.At that time USSR supplied us weapons and provided us resistance against US navalships and we were able to won the war.Now think why India is refusing to vote against russia.If US can prefer a military dictatorship over a democracy we have all rights to abstain

It is obvious because of 1971 incident
West can change this by tying up closely with India and predominantly by ignoring pakistan over the issue of disputed land which is OURS.
India is ready to deal with west over the topics of defence, clean energy, space, diplomatic relations, etc

Firstly Russia has no history of exploitation the third world countries . Allmost all europian countries had exploited india like they did in other asian and African countries.And America is doing the same thing in this age in many other ways .So Russia is different in Indian perspective.
