DHD '3DV' Surfboard Review by Noel Salas Ep.64

In this episode I get a custom PU 5’7” x 18 ¾ x 2 5/16, 26 liter 3DV by DHD. We got great waves ranging from 2-5’ and the 3DV did NOT disappoint.

This board has great speed and very easy to rail to rail transitions. Once you get this board on rail you can keep it on rail for as long as you want. The Vee in the tail is very noticeable to the eye and touch and it translates into how this board surfs.

I highly recommend this board for surfers in the range of medium intermediate to the pro level. The 3DV offers high performance surfing for waves in the 2-5’ range, beyond the 5’ range I recommend transitioning into a board with a little more tail rocker like the Monsta 6 or 8.

I just ordered the DHD 3DV 5´8 and 26.5 liters. It will arrived Lima (Perú) at year end. Can´t wait to surf it. I will replaced my TOMO Sci-Fi 5´7 and 26.4 liters. I will surf it in small waves around 2 - 5 feet in Cerro Azul & Puerto Viejo.

Amazing review, as usual!! I would suggest to keep using the ruler to show us the concave. It's a good way to show us how is the concave and also how deep it is.

Would you have any opinions on the DHD's Black Diamond? DHD website says the BD is a more all-rounder and goes well even with a little more punchy waves. Do you agree? Would the Black Diamond be more versatile than the 3DV? The BD seems to have less rocker and have a more forward wide point. What would that do? Cheers from France!

i think it would be great in your review if you could add for what kind of waves each surfboard is more suitable, the wave range height is good but a 4foot fat wave versus a 4 foot sucky wave would require different type of board.
