Fantastic treatment of a topic that can easily lead to total confusion on behalf of the student; you nailed it though. I watch a LOT of science videos and I'm sure this is the best out of the dozens on buffer solution chemistry that are on YouTube. Oh, and you might get a kick out the fact that you're helping someone 11 time zones from the UK (in Hawaii)....the internet & YT is amazing. Thanks for creating such great content; the prep. work you put in to tightly edit the script really stands out.

Those dissociation is based on pH of solvent, they are buffers, that maintain the pH by taking or releasing H+, thereby adjusting pH

Ethanoate ion from CH3COONa can further react with water to form CH3COOH

CH3COO- + H2O ——> CH3COOH + OH-

Does it affect the pH ?
