Halloween Season has come and gone, leaving only the faint scent of chocolate and bloody nightmares hanging in the air. Fortunately, we know exactly what to snack on during that special hangover from Halloween. Since there’s nothing but Thanksgiving and Christmas ahead of us, in order to ease your post-Samhain pain, we serve up two generous servings of horrific “Comfort Food.”

Tom has a simple need for a part time job, and the local burger joint looks like a good place to make a few easy bucks as a busboy. However, meeting the restaurant owner, Henry, and his shift leader, Cynthia, leads him into a deadly mystery.

I loved the vampire one at the end. The language was so elegant and wonderful.

So literally every single scene in the first story is known the moment they talk about the special burgers. But the second story was a rush. Reminding me of he ecstasy of watching Hellsing Ultimate, that sense of power over another. That power is what I found scary, the fact that the power was intoxicating and enjoyable is a meta level really unsettling and yet fascinating.

I like the fact in the second story it was the narrator himself who was terrifying not something he saw or faced

now, this was a great story, but it was a very obvious one. for one, when it started out as a burger joint, I immediately knew that it was human meat burgers. when Cynthia went missing, I knew she was turned into meat. when Tom walked into the meat room, I knew it was human bodies hanging on the hooks. when he walked up to the body hanging in front of him, and discovered the piece of skin on the ground, I knew it had a small c on it. I knew it was Cynthia. and when he slowly backed out of the room, I knew that Henry was behind him. like I said I enjoyed this story but it was VERY obvious. I just wanted to offer some positive constructive criticism :)

That first story... so many of these stories make the guy sound like some creepy stalker with his obsession of the female characters' appearance.

Diner is a good one, love the narrator too. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I agree with others that said the first one was extremely predictable.

The first story was well written and well narrated, but I think the problem with horror stories involving restaurants is that they're too easy to predict. I doubt there are many of them that don't end in the revelation that people are eating people.
