About the picture: Located in the north of Belgium, close to Antwerp, the city named 'Doel' can most certainly be called a ghost town as it is almost completely abandoned. Since 2013, less than 30 inhabitants are still living in Doel, while more than 2000 inhabitants were registered in earlier years. I made the picture with a hasselblad X1D II 50c, it's roaming the web ever since.

The picture was taken in Doel in Belgium. Doel is a village that had been cleared to make room for the Antwerp docks. But the terrain never got used. There's some people still living there. Special place as you can see. Nice music too! :-)

I'm in love with dub techno. It's become my go-to working music. It puts me in more of a trance than any other style of electronic music. Images that come to mind range from humid jungles to frozen peaks to futuristic bleak cities. Such a good sound.

Getting back to this on regular basis, again and again. I'd take your 'compilations' over pretentious dj sets anytime, anywhere. This kind of expression and presentation gives way more justice to the producers. To hear the whole thing, the way it's made to be, instead of warped and twisted clips, stems, layers and samples. Kudos to all the DJs out there, but thrice as much kudos to the work, effort and talent of the producers. The way you let these mixtapes fly, at least for me, is the real deal. I had my fair share of parties during 90's. Now I only want music. And this is exactly how I want it. Many thanks for your gratuitous efforts, and keep them coming !

I heard this style of music the first time in Cavendish Square, London year 2000. It was per chance I stumbled upon a shop which was shaped like a tunnel zinc plate and enough neon spandex to lit Dubai. Among the mystic raver paraphernalia they were also selling copies of home grown albums at the checkout stationed by 2 bubblegum chewing girls seemingly stoned out of their minds at 2 o'clock on a Tuesday afternoon. This was back in 2000 but never really knew what it was back then and back and I never thought to ask. Glad to hear that it's survived this long. Nothing beats the trippy atmospheric ambience brought all the way along its journey.
