We have two methods of using blue tape in easy to set up and tab-free workholding. The first is to use blue tape and double sided foam tape, alternatively you can use blue tape and 2P-10 adhesive.

Thanks for the video and keep them coming. I use the blue tape and super glue method when I want a clean edge. Tabs are fine for most things, but not always easy to clean up. Blue tape has its place.

I'd just do the double sided tape and no blue tape, then just sand off the residue. Otherwise it just seems so wasteful.

If you're only putting 4 strips of double sided tape... Why cover the entire back of the board with blue tape? Why not just have blue tape under the double sided tape...? Seems like a waste of blue tape to me.

Let me start by saying that I know I am cheap…..

With the foam, why not just put the blue tape where you are going to put the foam tape? The blue tape is what, 2” wide and the foam is about .5”. Good blue tape isn’t cheap

With the superglue, well, superglue is expensive.

How does it make sense to say that the methods are more attractive for one off parts than it is for production runs. If I make 50 different things is it really any different than making the same thing 50 times?

I’m not sure I have ever machined something that didn’t have waste that couldn’t be used to locate a screw. And 2-3 tabs can’t be much more work than all this set up.
