The Trump administration rescinded an Obama-era policy that encouraged universities to consider race when accepting students. The policy was set forth in order to promote diversity on college campuses, but the Trump administration suggests institutions should use "race-blind admission standards." Michelle Hackman, education reporter at the Wall Street Journal, joined CBSN with the latest on the decision.

THANK YOU, President Trump, for rescinding this insanely nonsensical policy. Enough with skin color and race already; brains are what counts. A victory for common sense!

Let’s stop continue using these three steps to unfairly get what you want.
1. The Entitlement Attitude
2. When you don’t get what you want then accuse the society of Racist
3. Then fight for the system to Lower the Standard to fit you in

An advice, to better oneself please follow these three steps rather.
1. Don’t blame others who do well, in this case the hard-working Asian kids and their parents
2. Put in more hard work
3. Prioritize the kids’ and your time

Affirmative action is inherently discriminatory. Even if you were to look beyond all that... If you college dropout rates you would note that the very people who affirmative action intended to help, dropout far more often than their peers who didn't have the unfair advantage based on their race to get them into college.

UNIVERSITIES IS ABOUT MERITS AND TALENT.

There is more than one non-merit way for the kids to get accepted into elite colleges. Choose one that works for you:
1. Pay through the side doors illegally to get in
2. Donate million of dollars legally to fund the school’s needs
3. Legacy
4. Athletic so to become the money tree of the school during your school years there
5. Born Black gets 450 lower than Asian American in SAT. Born Hispanic gets 270 lower than Asian American in SAT. Born White gets 140 lower than Asian American in SAT
6. Born Asian American studies really hard, does really well in school, outstanding in extra curriculum and awards and leadership roles, but just to get shut door one after another, just because you are being labeled as the Smart Asian American kid. Being unfairly treated by racism act.

Fairness they should go off of nothing but numbers that's it. You get 1300 on your SATs you're in no matter if your name is Hayden, Tyrone, Tong, Jessica, Tamika doesn't matter merit-based only no excuses in this day and age

Mr.Trump, I agree with you on this stance. Now I ask you to please do more as Harvard just won the lawsuit, permitting more discrimination.

I know this is off the subject, but there has been, discrmination in auto racing, back in the early days of prostock dragracing Chrysler absolutely dominated it with its winning, GM complained to Wally parks who headed up the NHRA, they punished Chrysler for being to winning, by making the Chrysler run heavier cars it was supposed to slow them down, to level the playing field and it did and Chevrolet started winning, but it really wasn't winning it was robbing the rightful winner

Here’s the thing, affirmative action doesn’t allow a quote system. There is no quota system, the Supreme Court has upheld that a quota system is unconstitutional. What colleges do is holistic reviewing which looks into GPA, activities, etc., and does take account of race. The difference between a holistic review system and a quota system is one is actively seeking diversity but so yeah it’ll still be a lot of white Americans but it gives other minorities a try as well, where as the quota system, which once again has been eradicated only gives certain number of minorities a chance without factoring other achievements. Affirmative Action isn’t holding anyone back, it’s allowing people to step forward. Not only that, but black and hispanic students haven’t helped at all, the biggest benefactors of affirmative action is white women. There isn’t black privilege going on at all. This year 22% of students who were admitted into Harvard were Asian, theres no reason to claim they’re being discriminated against. They’re just hurting themselves in the long run.
