Hello, I don't really know if the Greek word of 'by' is the same as 'trough'. If it is different, we may have to correct on about mm:ss of 1:26-1:32 according to Ephesians 2:8.

I used to be a "faith alone/easy believism believer who believed that no amount of sin or disobedience could send me to hell. THANK God I was delivered from this. I too recently did a study on heretic martin luther. . martin luther invented "faith alone" so he could continue to live like the devil and "still be saved". james says you CANNOT have true faith without works. . martin luther said to "sin boldly" and sin was OK as long as you praised Jesus for his forgiveness.. this is exactly what the apositle meant when he warned about "what then, shall we sin that grace may abound?".

where the faith alone folks go wrong is they read where we are not saved by the "works of THE LAW"....meaning the laws of moses.. the bible says "by works of the LAW shall NO flesh be justified", they take these verses and wrongly apply them to works NOT of moses laws!. they want to say faith (belief) with NO works meaning faith with NO repentance from sin, NO changed life, and NO good deeds/works. this is DEAD faith that cannot save anyone. . people love faith alone becouse it allows then to "believe in Jesus for salvation" while living like the devil in works and deeds. this is a FOOLS hope!.

the ONLY place where "faith alone" is mentioned in the bible is James 2:24 where faith ALONE is condemned and refuted!. read this peiple:

What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and hath not works? Can faith save him?

15 If a brother or sister be naked and destitute of daily food,

16 and one of you say unto them, “Depart in peace; be ye warmed and filled, ” without giving them those things which are needful to the body, what doth it profit?

17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

18 Yea, a man may say, “Thou hast faith, and I have works.” Show me thy faith apart from thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works.

19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well. The devils also believe — and tremble.

20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?

22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?

23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which saith, “Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness”; and he was called the friend of God.

24 Ye see then how by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

25 Likewise also, was not Rahab the harlot justified by works when she had received the messengers and had sent them out another way?

26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

WHO are you going to believe? the apositle James under the inspiration of the holy spirit OR martin luther??
