He was American but enlisted in the Israeli army? Doesn’t compute.

This description should include that Edan was an IDF soldier. "taken hostage" implies he was a civilian.

An American citizen left America to join and fight for a foreign non-American army; while a member of that non-American army he gets captured by that armys' enemy. Then, he doesn't ask Israels President for help, he doesn't ask Americas President for help, he asks a guy that doesn't currently hold any power to do anything for him. Sounds like one bad move after another.

He looks healthy and fit considering the horrible bombing and starvation circumstances. Last hostages released were killed by IDF, so its necessary to have a neutral, third party involved.
I'm sure it was a relief for his family to see he has survived.
All Netanyahu has to do, is agree to have his troops leave Gaza and stop attacking West Bank Palestinians.

its not a war in Gaza, They are occupied, it is genocide. The word war is pure propaganda. "According to international humanitarian law, an occupying country is obligated to respect the civilian population in occupied territory, ensuring their basic needs are met, protecting private property, maintaining law and order, and generally following the existing laws of the occupied territory, while only taking necessary measures to secure its own safety; this includes prohibiting the transfer of its own population into the occupied area and the forced displacement of the local population"

From NJ. Went back to what he considered his "mother country" to serve in the Israel Army? He's Israels problem now dual citizenship or not. He signed up. He joined the club man. He got captured. Remember those of the Hanoi Hilton? Left them there for how long? And, they were US soldiers. Sorry dude you signed up and then got captured. Actions have consequences. Wars have consequences. Starting wars has consequences. Escape. Evade. Re-join the fight.

So you at NBC do not support negotiations?. I am sure most hostages would like negotiations to take place.
