What’s the Difference Between a Start and Run Capacitor?

what is the difference between 35uf and 35+10uf capacitors? Also, what does the +10 mean? Im not talking about the +/- 6% either. Also, if there a difference between a Pool pump capacitor and a AC capacitor? They look the same.

You guys didn't answer the question. You state what it is called based on where it's mounted, and what it does, but not if there is a difference.
Is a capacitor a capacitor whether it is used as start or run? or is there a physical difference between the two?
Can they be interchanged?

Hey guys my dads compressor started having a bogged down sound and kicking breakers he thought converting it to 220 is the answer and I say it should run like it used to on 110, I ordered and replaced the start capacitor but it changed nothing “very sad news 😉😁” now I’m wondering if it would I should spend time and money on a run these aren’t cheap and for retain I coulda bought a new compressor help 😁 need air in it sounds like it just needs more power but functioned fine over 10 years on 110

What size of a capacitor can i use to convert a 3phase motor to a single phase

which wires connect to my dual capacitor 2- black 1-red 1-red&white stripewhic one goes on the herm/fan/c connection

A BAD RUN CAP WILL also cause a motor not to start So i't a good idea to have both caps checked. SWITCH-LESS motors only use one cap and it's a run cap, "generally" on top of the motor and silver metal in construction
