1/2 cup Raw Rice OR (Sona Masoori)
1-3/4 cups Water
1/2 cup Milk, hot
1/2 cup Yogurt, plain
2 tablespoon Cucumber
1 tablespoon Carrot
1 tablespoon Coriander Leaves
Curry Leaves
1 Green Chilli
1/2 teaspoon Asafoetida
Salt, to taste
1 teaspoon Ginger
2 teaspoon Oil
1/2 teaspoon Mustard
1 teaspoon Urad Dal
1 tablespoon Cashew Nuts
1 sprig Curry Leaves

Recipe 7: Karandi Omelette
Ingredients
2 Eggs
Salt, to taste
1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
2 Green Chillies, finely chopped
1 small Onion, finely chopped
Coriander Leaves, chopped
2 teaspoon Oil

Recipe 8: Chinese Egg Fried Rice
Ingredients
2 teaspoon Oil
5 Eggs
Pepper, crushed
Salt, to taste
1 teaspoon Ginger
1 teaspoon Garlic
1/4 cup French Beans
1/4 cup Carrot
1/4 cup Cabbage
1 teaspoon Red Chilli Sauce
2 teaspoon Soy Sauce
1 bowl Rice, cooked
1 teaspoon Spring Onion

Ingredients
Whole Wheat Bread

Interesting recipes. These are good for senior people living alone too. Cooking roti sabzi for one person, that too oneself, can be boring. I liked the idea of vermicelli soup & macaroni soup. Very convenient for senior citizens like me. Thank you for sharing these recipes.

A suggestion for the chana. Add sliced raw onions, tomatoes, green chillies to the chana while boiling it in the cooker. While mashing the chana, lightly mash these too.

If there is a fridge available, it's convenient to keep:
1. a tetra pack of Dabur's Homemade tomato puree.
2. Ginger garlic paste.
3. Dry kanda-lasoon masala, available online. This can be stored without a fridge.
4. Barista or packaged fried onions. This can be stored without a fridge.
5. Jeera goli. These can be crushed with a spoon & added to anything for that chatpata taste, instead of having to store chat masala, pepper, amchur powder. This too can be stored without a fridge.
6. Boiled potatoes.

For the bhel: Kolhapuri bhadang is a spicy, khatta meetha murmura moongfali ka chivda, available online. Just add chopped onions, tomatoes, fresh coriander leaves if available. Lemon juice us optional. Mix & bhel is ready.

Haldirams & Chheda's also sell ready to eat packaged bhel mixes with chutneys in plastic packets inside.

The scrambled eggs can also be used in a toast sandwich. Invariably there is leftover green chutney or hot & sweet chutney, that comes with food ordered from restaurants. Apply this on two slices of bread, place the scrambled eggs in between & toast in a gas sandwich toaster for a quick bite.

Besan ka Cheelas or bread pudlas are also quick, nutritious & easy to make. Besan & dry masalas batter is all that is required, if tomato sauce or green chutney is available. Same batter for bread pudla. If fresh coriander leaves & green chillies are available, can be added.

Sweet corn, boiled with salt & sugar, with a sprinkling of chat masala (optional) is a convenient & healthy option for hostelites & working professionals & harassed working mothers. 😊
