A great hand grinder for espresso is the 1Zpresso JX-PRO. Runs around $150 US and has micro adjustments. Really easy to grind also. Just another option for those looking for a grinder and don't want to spend $400. This will also allow you to go with the Breville Infuser or Gaggia Classic pro and grab a grinder that is much better then the built in grinder of the Express and still be in the same price range of the all in one.

This is an excellent comparison, because the same grinder was used. This might have sold me on the Breyville Barista Pro.

Great video. Personally I had the Baratza 270Wi. I didn't like it cause it was extremely noisy and very messy. I would recommend the Ceado or Eureka.

I have the exact same problem with Ethiopian beans try going coarser on your top bur.

Why when you do comparisons do you not use the beat equipment thus reducing all variables such as the poorer quality grinder. Using the Niche on both is better apple to apple comparison than using the built in grinder

Hoon, you always get a smooth stream of coffee when pulling shots on the Breville! My pulls never stay smooth for the full shot. Starts nice and smooth. Then middle, end of the shot stream get a pulses. Thinking I’m getting channeling? Any tips?

i can see you*ve been watching marc*s videos using words such as prosumer and appliance grade. however, with all the problems you*re having inluding dripping from the portafilter and electrical. i think this machine has poor quality comtrol. i own the rancillio jacky grinder. sometimes, it gets me so angry, i want to throw it out the

Thanks for the honest comparison :)

Technically, the Express has 2 thermo blocks (or one thermo-COIL for brew head, and one thermo-block for steam) - that's why it's much quicker to move between the 2 processes. It also auto dumps and fills.

I roast my own coffee at home so having the gauge on the Express makes it much easier to dial in different beans and roasts with less waste.

Hoon Sorry about your Rancilio coffee. I think you should tell ebay after you have your money back so they could not sell it to other people. I am worrying it will go to different honest buyer. I hate dishonest seller. That a reason i am looking for shop owner on ebay and same state as me. So i can go there and test it. Abit more like $100 but less back and forward.

I thought that the Breville Barista Express had a 53mm portafilter?
