Very interesting and thanks for sharing. I was also interested in that we in the USA saw fit to have an airbase there until 2006. I don't think many of us in the US even know half of the countries we have bases in. Pax Americana, you know.

Another thing I've been educated about... Always thought the Americans 'occupied' Iceland right from the start, but now I know better.. At least, when the British invade, they do so with style.. ;)
