This is only useful if you want subtitles for certain words, few and far between.

You should note that if you want subtitles for the entire timeline then go to timeline (top left) and hit “create subtitles from audio” this transcribes everything and does a pretty good job (not as well as Descript tho)

It should also be noted that if you want two different subtitles (per say you have a podcast and want unique subtitles for different people) then you can’t create a new track (only one will show) so you have to right click the first subtitle track and hit “add subtitle region” and now you have two and edits on the track edit that entire region (saves A LOT of time if you customize every track independently)

Also EXTREMELY IMPORTANT, sometimes the subtitles won’t even show up in the export but clearly are shown on the edit page. To fix this: go to your render settings, scroll down and you’ll see subtitle settings. Expand that and check the subtitles you want exported (I.e subtitle region 1/2) and change the format to “Burn into video” now your subtitles will show!

Too much bass in the audio man. Did you add some effects on it? Maybe your voice sounds good as is. I can't understand anything with my speakers, I had to use my headphones where I can dial the bass down

I don't have an "Add Subtitle" button in my version where you pointed it out? I just have "Delete Track" "Delete Empty Tracks" and "Add Track"
