Chile Earthquake Today | Magnitude 6.1 earthquake rocks Calama, Antofagasta

An intermediate magnitude 6.2 earthquake was reported early afternoon near Calama, Provincia de El Loa, Antofagasta, Chile.
According to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), the quake hit on Wednesday, July 27th, 2022, at 2:58 pm local time at an intermediate depth of 108 km.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which reported the same quake at magnitude 6.2 as well.
It should not have caused significant damage, other than objects falling from shelves, broken windows, etc.
In Calama, located 39 km from the epicenter, and San Pedro de Atacama, 80 km away, the quake should have been felt as light shaking.
